Huayou Recycling Achieves Major Breakthrough in Battery Circularity with Commercial-Scale LFP Direct Recycling

While conventional hydrometallurgy remains a chemical- and energy-intensive route for recovering battery metals, its application to Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistries often faces severe economic and environmental bottlenecks due to high reagent consumption and low intrinsic metal value.

Recently, Huayou Recycling has officially commissioned our commercial-scale LFP Direct Recycling production line, powered by our independently developed physical restoration technology.

By preserving the engineered crystal lattice of degraded LFP and employing advanced physical restoration, our direct recycling process bypasses the destructive dissolution-precipitation steps of hydrometallurgy.

• Lower Carbon Footprint: Easily complies with upcoming EU Battery Regulation and Battery Passport mandates.

• Economic Viability: Bypasses energy-intensive smelting, making closed-loop LFP recycling commercially viable.

• Near-Pristine Performance: Restores LFP cathode materials to performance levels comparable to virgin-derived battery materials.

• True Industrial Scale: Transitions direct recycling from a lab concept into a robust, mass-production reality.

Through our LFP Direct Recycling solution, we are enabling a more immediate, economically viable, and low-carbon pathway for closed-loop LFP battery recycling.
