Recently, at the 2nd UN Global Compact (UNGC) Global Business Summit for High‑Quality Belt and Road Cooperation held in Singapore, 18 global mining and industrial‑chain enterprises including Huayou Cobalt and Youshan Technology jointly launched the Global Mining Sustainability Alliance (GMSA) Joint Initiative.
Guided by the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the Initiative focuses on three major dimensions: green transition, community co‑development, and good governance & compliance. It advocates for green mine construction, low‑carbon technological transformation and ecological restoration; reinforces human‑rights protection and responsible supply‑chain due diligence; and improves corporate governance as well as information disclosure mechanisms.
As a key player in the new‑energy lithium‑ion battery materials sector, Huayou consistently pursues green, low‑carbon and circular development. It embeds sustainability principles across its industrial chain covering resource development, materials manufacturing and circular recycling, and keeps advancing clean production, comprehensive resource utilization, ecological environmental protection and responsible supply‑chain development.
Taking this Initiative as a new starting point, Huayou will uphold its mission of “creating value for customers and spearheading industrial advancement”. The Company will deepen exchanges and collaboration with global mining and value‑chain partners, facilitate the sharing of best practices and mutual learning of experience, and adopt more pragmatic actions to advance coordinated progress between resource exploitation and ecological conservation, as well as industrial growth and community prosperity. Huayou will contribute its share to the green, inclusive and high‑quality development of the global mining industry.
