As the wave of large-scale power batteries gradually enters the end-of-life stage, the industry is reaching a critical point for resource recycling. Globally, building a mature LFP recycling system requires balancing processes with economic viability. Supported by a strong industrial foundation, Huayou has established a closed-loop system covering upstream phosphate resource development, iron phosphate (FP) and LFP material manufacturing, and end-of-life power battery recycling.

On the resource side, Huayou leverages its presence in Guizhou—one of China’s most resource-rich provinces for phosphate—to ensure stable access to key raw materials. On the manufacturing side, the company has built a global footprint across Zhejiang, Guangxi, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Indonesia. Huayou has reached an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons of LFP and continues to expand its capacity in an orderly manner.
On the recycling side, Huayou currently has the capability to process around 100,000 tons of LFP battery black mass per year, with this figure expected to exceed 250,000 tons annually by 2027, supporting future market demand.
At the same time, Huayou offers a dual-technology solution combining direct-recycling and hydrometallurgical processing to address different application needs. For partners with strict requirements on lifecycle carbon footprint, direct-recycling restores damaged crystal structures and aims to recover material performance without loss.
